Audio files can really help!

evelyn @ 1:14 pm

Forth in Praise has been getting requests for audio files of new Mass music, so I’ve updated the list on our Mass Page to indicate those settings where you can listen to and sometimes download these files. It can be really handy to be able to hear music as well as read it, and we parish musicians are very grateful to the composers who allow their sheet music and audio files to be freely available. And remember, you can also find audio on many publishers’ websites and on some of the bishops’ conference websites of other English-speaking countries. Links to these can also be found on our Mass page.

Sadly, our own mainly Scottish-based list hasn’t greatly increased over the last year, as there have been no meetings of the publication approval committee. Hopefully this situation will change soon.

If you have composed Mass music and uploaded it to a blog or website, and especially if you have also made available audio files, do let us know. Forth in Praise will be happy to link to your setting. Contact us at massmusic@forthinpraise.co.uk.

We really need to get to know lots more Mass music.
