Update

evelyn @ 4:08 pm

Sorry about lack of blog posts recently. I’ve had rather a bad time lately. An accident in Glasgow in February meant I was carted off in an ambulance to one of the big hospitals there, where I had to have plastic surgery on my leg. No sooner was I home after that when I was found to have contracted an infection and was promptly hauled off in ambulance no.2 to hospital no.2, where I stayed for another week or so.

Now home again and waiting for leg to heal – a long job. But I should be able to spend time at the computer now. There’s a lot to catch up on. So don’t go away …

  1. Sorry to hear about your recent events and yes did wonder why it had all been so quiet.
Hope you have a full recovery soon. Will be watching for news/comments.

  2. Thanks for your good wishes, Marian. Recovery is on course, and I’m now doing a bit a catching up on the blog. It’s the first time I’ve done a daily blog, and it probably won’t last!

  3. Goodness, Evelyn! I’d been wondering about you. Turns out I should have been worried after all! (but, you know, I live across the pond and we’ve never met so I didn’t want to seem too nosy). Glad to hear you are recovering. We’ve had some folks over here in the same boat–car accident, then infection. Not the best combination, but be patient…you’ll mend. Meanwhile, it’s nice to have a computer around. Or a good book. Not sure what I’d do without one or the other. Had the flu last week and that was enough time on the couch for me! Looking forward to more blogs.

  4. Michael, thanks for your concern and good wishes. Recovery is well under way, although I can’t spend too long at the computer – if I try to keep my foot up my back gets twisted! But it’s a good exercise in creating posts which are short and to the point. It’s doing wonders for my prose style!
