Glorias galore!

evelyn @ 12:17 pm

Just a final reminder about our Composers’ Workshop on Saturday 3 November. After a very busy time emailing material back and forth, Robin and I got together yesterday afternoon to check out Powerpoint projector and screen, sound system and all the rest of the technology. Although we say it ourselves, we think we have some interesting and possibly pioneering stuff here. However, we’ll let the workshop participants judge that. I must say, I don’t think any composer, not even Bach, has EVER had a challenge like the latest English version of the Gloria!

We don’t want to tell people what style to compose in – no-one can do that, it’s too personal a thing. But we will be offering suggestions as to how to set about things, and showing how others have tackled the new Gloria in particular. We’d very much like people’s views on our approach and hope they will participate to the fullest by testing the methods we suggest.

It will be a small workshop – we’ll probably all get round one table, two at the most – and there’ll be tea and coffee on tap. Don’t forget packed lunch, and of course pencil and eraser.

One or two places still left – email massmusic@forthinpraise.co.uk to book. No charge, although small donations welcome.

It should be fun.
